so today I thought I’d make my next post about a few books that I really love to read and the ones I am currently reading or have recently read.
I think I’m gonna start with my favorite books.
The Rescue by Nicholas Sparks
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read this book. If you’re a sucker for love stories and you like Nicholas Sparks books I really recommend this one. The story is really beautiful and makes me laugh and cry every single time.
“A brush with tragedy pushes Denise to the brink. She is pulled back by dashing fireman, Taylor – but how far will he be prepared to go for her when it really counts?
As Taylor helps Denise recover from the shock of her son’s disappearance, their chemistry becomes undeniable. They are a perfect fit, but just as she lets herself relax, she realizes it is too good to be true – Taylor simply cannot open his heart to her.
As his conflicting desires throw Denise’s emotions painfully awry, she begins to regret gambling the balance she had created with her son. Taylor has to decide: draw back or dive in. Can he open himself to Denise’s love and give her the happiness they both crave?”
Okay so that’s the description on the back of the book. Does’t give it much justice if you ask me. What you don’t find out here is that Denise’s son has a problem with speaking properly. He’s behind in learning to speak and Denise is trying everything to help him learn to say the simplest words. It’s amazing to see the progress she’s making and the way she’s struggling. Seriously read the book it’s simply AMAZING!
The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks
Many of you probably know the movie to that book, but if you haven’t read it yet go on and read it. I personally haven’t watched the movie yet, because the trailers looked so different from the story I read and I still don’t know if I want to destroy the things I made up in my mind, even though that many people told me the movie is really great.
There aren’t many things to say about the book other than that I really enjoy reading it. I’m a sucker for cowboys so yea this book had me right from the beginning.
“Ninenty-one-year-old Ira Levinson is in trouble. Struggling to stay conscious after a car crash, an image of his adored – and long-dead – wife Ruth appears. Urging him to hang on, she lovingly recounts the joys and sorrows of their life together: how they met, the dark days of WWII and its unrelenting effect on their families.
A few miles away, college student Sophia Danko’s life is about to change when she meets the young, rugged Luke and is thrown into a world far removed from her privileged school life. Sophia sees a tantalizing future for herself, but Luke is keeping a secret that could destroy it all.”
Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
Don’t think there’s any description needed for this one. I just love Harry Potter and think it’s a go to series when you can’t find a new book to read or are just sick of love stories. This is seriously one of the best series ever written. I also do love the movies, but the books have just so much more to it, that you’d never know when just watching the movies. In today’s world I think Harry Potter is definitely a must.
After series by Anna Todd
So this is one of the most recent things I’ve read and I have to stay I do like the books, but the story is kind of … I don’t know it’s just a back and forth all the time which continues throughout all four books. After seeing the books everywhere and basically seeing everyone read them I thought why not and gave them a try. I really did enjoy reading them and I like the story behind all of it, but the constant back and forth just isn’t for me. At some points I was screaming in my head at Tessa to just suck it up and leave Hardin.
“Tessa is a good girl with a sweet, reliable boyfriend back home. She’s got direction, ambition, and a mother who’s intent on keeping her that way. But she’s barely moved into her freshman dorm when she runs into Hardin. With his tousled brown hair, cocky British accent, tattoos, and lip ring, Hardin is cute and different from what she’s used to.
But he’s also rude – to the point of cruelty, even. For all his attitude, Tessa should hate Hardin. And she does – until she finds herself alone with him in his room. Something about his dark mood grabs her, and when they kiss it ignites within her a passion she’s never known before.
He’ll call her beautiful, then insist he isn’t the one for her and disappear again and again. Despite the reckless way he treats her, Tessa is compelled to dig deeper and find the real Hardin beneath all his lies. He pushes her away again and again, yet every time she pushes back, he only pulls her in deeper.
Tessa already has the perfect boyfriend. So why is she trying so hard to overcome her own hurt pride and Hardin’s prejudice about nice girls like her? Unless…could this be love?”
All in all though I have to say that I’d probably read the book again, just because I think it’s good series and you don’t have to think about much while reading it. And who doesn’t like bad boys? 😉
HACKER series by Meredith Wild
So I found these books when I was in England last summer and just gave them a go. I reread the first four books recently as the fifth book came out in September 2015 and I read all of the first four books in July and I prefer reading a series in one go rather than having to wait months and months for the next one. That’s why I waited until a month ago to purchase the fifth book and reread the whole series. Really enjoy this series, but what I discovered while reading a lot of series like that is that it seems like the authors always have to make everything more dramatic with each book, which in my opinion makes every thing a little bit less realistic. But, who cares?! Still love those kinds of books!
“Determined to overcome a difficult past, Erica Hathaway learns early on to make it on her own. Days after her college graduation, she finds herself face to face with a panel of investors who will make or break her fledgling start-up website. The only thing she didn’t prepare for was going weak in the knees over an arrogant and gorgeous investor who seems determined to derail her plans.
Billionaire and rumoured hacker Blake Landon has already made his fortune in software, and he’s used to getting what he wants. Captivated by Erica’s drive and unassuming beauty, he’s wanted nothing more than to possess her since she stepped into his boardroom. Determined to win her over, he breaks down her defences and fights for her trust, even if it means sacrificing a level of control he’s grown accustomed to.
But when Blake uncovers a dark secret from Erica’s past, he threatens not just her trust, but the life she’s fought so hard to create…”
According to Amazon it’s “The perfect new addiction for fans of Fifty Shades of Grey and Sylvia Day’s Bared To You series.” – so if you read Fifty Shades of Grey or the Bared To You series you should definitely try this one out 😉
The 80/10/10 diet by Douglas N. Graham
I am also currently reading this book whenever I have time as a lot of vegan bloggers and YouTubes recommended it and I am still educating myself on the vegan diet and which food are the best for your body and health. I am not very far along with reading it, but as fas as I can tell it’s really interesting to read and I would also highly recommend reading it if you want to educate yourself on a raw vegan diet and also just to educate yourself in general. I don’t think that I will agree with everything he says, but some of the aspects I read so far are really inspiring and also helped me in finding ways to explain other people a little better why I chose this lifestyle.
Hope you enjoyed this post and I’ll see you next time – xo.
