life update.

Hey guys,

so I thought I’d just give you an all around update on my life, university, fitness, health, all that stuff.

Covering uni first cause I think it’s the topic I can cover the quickest. So I’ve been studying International Business Administration for almost two months now. I have to say that I am not really sure if that is really the thing I am looking for, but it’s just the beginning and I guess there’s a lot of base that needs to be covered first. Some classes are really interesting and some are not and I’m actually kind of nervous about the exams that are starting in the middle of July. I just hope that all goes well and I don’t have to do a class again.

Now onto health and fitness. I have to say that I have been really good with the fitness part at the beginning. Like I went to the gym 3-4 times a week at least and on the days I didn’t go I did some yoga at home. Lately I’ve been slacking, though. I just feel really down and don’t really have the energy to do anything. But, it’s finally starting to wear off and I feel more like being active again and am really looking forward to going to the gym again.
Health wise though I am struggling a little. I want to get into meal prepping, but can’t really find the perfect recipes. I usually eat what I’m in the mood for and as you know from my previous post, breakfast is the only thing I am actually prepping. I do prep lunch for mondays as I am at uni all day. Hope I’ll be able to do more of that in the future, as it will really help with being more aware of the calories and macros I eat. What I can recommend to prep though are rice dishes like the one I posed in my Favorite recipes post a while ago or wraps are an easy thing to prep as well. Just cut up a few veggies and you’re good to go. IMG_2411

 

 

Here I just added some Hummus as my sauce then put on some lettuce, spinach, cucumber, paprika and corn. Usually I also add some Tofu that I seasoned with some pepper and paprika then cooked it with some coconut oil and soya sauce and then cut into stripes and some beans, but I didn’t have beans at hand that time and was too lazy to prepare the tofu. But I hope you get the idea 🙂

 

 

 

 

I also started to increase my protein intake.

So here we have Veganz (they are currently only available in Germany, but if you’re from the US I can recommend trying the GoMacro Bars, which are also vegan and have a great message behind them), Clif Bar and the protein ball co. I also ordered myself the vegan protein blend by MyProtein, which I like to take during the weeks when I am going to the gym often.

I hope you got an idea on what’s going on in my life right now. Health and fitness wise I also decided to join a fitness community that includes 12 week challenges, which I’ll join around the middle of June. I will update you on that and tell you which one I decided on when I actually joined and am in the middle of the challenge maybe so I can also tell you about my experiences and show you some results. trying to get my shit together.

Hey guys,

so I thought I’d let you know what I’ve been trying for years and now seriously want to pursue… Get serious about working out and eating healthy.

I hope that writing this down and sharing my progress with you might actually help me do this for real now. I still have to figure out how often I can go to the gym now that university starts on Monday and I have a lot to learn about meal prepping. At the moment I will have Wednesdays and Fridays off, but I seriously have to find a part-time job. Being used to earning money and now being completely cut off, will definitely be hard. I do have a few savings in  my account, but turns out I’ve been spending more money than ever this past month. This will be a really hard time.

So, back to me trying to work out more and eating more healthy. I have a gym membership for about three years now and there were times where I went regularly and times were I didn’t go for months. I recently got back into going at least two to three times a week with a friend of mine. We’re usually just hitting up some of the courses that my gym offers and feel really good afterwards.
Thanks to YouTube though I’ve been following a lot of Fitness channels and been loving them ever since. Didn’t really change anything about my motivation in actually working out though. Yesterday I was at the FIBO in Cologne though and I actually got the chance to meet two of my favorite YouTubers (Nikki Blackketter and Rob Lipsett) – super nice guys by the way – and just being there and the vibe that was going on, made me want to be serious about this now. I can’t always just say I’ll do it, I have to start and once I’ll see the results I know it was worth it.

Of course another big part in working out and getting my body into the shape I want it to be, is eating healthy. I’ve been vegan for almost two years now and I have to admit I haven’t really been the healthiest one. I like to eat, I like food and I looooove sweets. In my opinion eating healthy doesn’t mean you’ll have to cut out special foods and all that – it’ll just makes you crave the more if you do – you just have to find the right balance. I thing that starting Uni on Monday will actually help me to get into being more healthy easier, because I am forced to meal prep as I have no clue if they have any appealing vegan options there.

So in the following months I’ll try to keep you updated about my progress with meal prep posts and maybe a few fitness posts, even though I’m not sure how to actually write and structure on (any tipps?). I also put it on my bucket list to get more into blogging now that I will have more time to dedicate to this blog. Hope you guys are excited and will follow my blog to not only see if there will be a transformation in my body, but also how things at university will go.

recent reads.

Okay, I have to admit this one isn’t that recent, but I wanted to share this series with you, because I really enjoyed reading it and thought that maybe some of you to there will as well.

The series I’m talking about is The Selection Series by Kiera Cass.
Kalyn Nicholson, a YouTuber I love, talked about the last book of the series in one of her videos, so I thought I’d just give it a try and bought the whole box on amazon.

The series plays in the future and the world isn’t what it is now. Countries have different names and the population is split into castes, which each represents a certain class and with the different castes you’re only allowed to do certain jobs. Also most of the countries aren’t democratic any longer, most of them are monarchies now. So the heir of the throne of Illéa (a future country) is looking for a future bride with the help of the Selection and that’s pretty much what the book is about. It kind of reminds you of the Bachelor, but I really enjoyed reading this series. I have to admit though that I enjoyed the first three books more than the last two, but just read the books yourself and let me know what you think!

Here’s what it says on the back of the first book of the series:

I originally wanted to upload another post, but as it is Friday and I’ve only ever uploaded one other #FashionFriday post, I thought it was time to write another one.

This one is a pretty simple fall outfit though, as all the clothes I’m wearing are by H&M.
I have to admit that I am kind of obsessed with online shopping and I got really excited for this outfit while ordering it. I just couldn’t wait to see if it looked as good as I imagined it.

my skin care routine

Hey guys,

as I just recently started using new products for my skin care routine, I thought this would be an interesting topic to write about.

I’m not the kind of person that puts tons of products on their face or their body in general. For a long time all I used was some creme and that’s it. But cleansing your face is important, especially when you wear makeup.

So after my last cleanser and face lotion ran out I was desperately looking for a new one and found these products by Martina Gebhardt in a local shop that sells organic stuff. As I may have mentioned I am trying to include more and more vegan friendly products into my daily life and as they were standing by the vegan beauty products I thought I’d give them a try.

I’ve been using these products for about two weeks now and I have to say I really like the way they make my skin feel. It does feels soft and cleansed after I use them. I am also using both products in the mornings after getting up and before I go to bed at night. The Martina Gebhardt website recommends using both products in the morning, but only the cleanser at night as it is enough to moisturize your face, but I found that my skin does feel dry after just using the cleanser, so that’s why I am using both products in the mornings and nights.

why I suck at blogging

Okay, I guess I have to admit that I seriously suck at blogging.

The thing is I really want to get into it and dedicate my time to creating amazing content that people enjoy reading, but .. I’m always overthinking stuff. I think I do have something I want to talk about but then it turns out that I’m just not able to take pictures of it or that an outfit looked way better in my mind than when I have it on and take a picture.

I also think that it is pretty hard for a beginner to compete with all those amazing bloggers out there. Why would anyone want to read my blog, if there are hundreds of other blogs way better that mine. With professional pictures, amazing outfit and travel posts?

I know that at least some of them probably started the way that I did. With no experience and no professional equipment. So that’s just what I have to remind myself of – that as long as I love what I’m posting, it doesn’t matter if my blog is successful or if a lot of people are reading it. And that’s what I’m going to do. I will not pressure myself into posting something once a week or a month just to do so, I will post whenever I feel like it and whenever I have something to talk about.

Let’s just hope I can come up with something 😉
