My Go-To Breakfast|vegan

Hey guys,

today I thought I’d share my go-to breakfast with you. I’m seriously eating this almost every single day. It’s perfect on the go and really quick to throw together. Here are the ingredients:

  • one apple
  • oats
  • flaxseeds
  • walnuts
  • dates
  • soya yogurt

All you now have to do is mix everything together and you’re ready to go. When I take it with me to uni I put the yogurt extra, because I personally don’t like it when it has that mushy consistency.

I also wanted to just give you a quick update on how my workout and everything is going. I have been going to the gym a lot lately and started lifting weight, which I really do enjoy. Unfortunately my body isn’t really used to it, that’s why I felt really down yesterday and just did a light yoga session and went for a walk outside. I think it is really important to listen to your body, but still do something, like go for a walk or do a quick and easy workout at home. Just be easy on yourself and don’t push it. Try to slowly increase the intensity of your workout sessions.

Anyways, I hope you all have a nice weekend.

See you next time – xo

trying to get my shit together.

Hey guys,

so I thought I’d let you know what I’ve been trying for years and now seriously want to pursue… Get serious about working out and eating healthy.

I hope that writing this down and sharing my progress with you might actually help me do this for real now. I still have to figure out how often I can go to the gym now that university starts on Monday and I have a lot to learn about meal prepping. At the moment I will have Wednesdays and Fridays off, but I seriously have to find a part-time job. Being used to earning money and now being completely cut off, will definitely be hard. I do have a few savings in  my account, but turns out I’ve been spending more money than ever this past month. This will be a really hard time.

So, back to me trying to work out more and eating more healthy. I have a gym membership for about three years now and there were times where I went regularly and times were I didn’t go for months. I recently got back into going at least two to three times a week with a friend of mine. We’re usually just hitting up some of the courses that my gym offers and feel really good afterwards.
Thanks to YouTube though I’ve been following a lot of Fitness channels and been loving them ever since. Didn’t really change anything about my motivation in actually working out though. Yesterday I was at the FIBO in Cologne though and I actually got the chance to meet two of my favorite YouTubers (Nikki Blackketter and Rob Lipsett) – super nice guys by the way – and just being there and the vibe that was going on, made me want to be serious about this now. I can’t always just say I’ll do it, I have to start and once I’ll see the results I know it was worth it.

Of course another big part in working out and getting my body into the shape I want it to be, is eating healthy. I’ve been vegan for almost two years now and I have to admit I haven’t really been the healthiest one. I like to eat, I like food and I looooove sweets. In my opinion eating healthy doesn’t mean you’ll have to cut out special foods and all that – it’ll just makes you crave the more if you do – you just have to find the right balance. I thing that starting Uni on Monday will actually help me to get into being more healthy easier, because I am forced to meal prep as I have no clue if they have any appealing vegan options there.

So in the following months I’ll try to keep you updated about my progress with meal prep posts and maybe a few fitness posts, even though I’m not sure how to actually write and structure on (any tipps?). I also put it on my bucket list to get more into blogging now that I will have more time to dedicate to this blog. Hope you guys are excited and will follow my blog to not only see if there will be a transformation in my body, but also how things at university will go.

I’d love for you to share your stories with me. Just leave a comment and let me know if you already started working out more and getting healthy or if you do want to start with me – always makes more fun when you know you’re not alone and can share your struggles and experiences. Until next time – xo

PS: I also had to share the pictures I made with Nikki and Rob at the FIBO 2017.

Veganism

Hey guys,

so today I thought I’d just talk about something that’s been on my mind a lot recently. As you already know I am a big YouTube fan and am watching quite a lot of different channels. The thing that I recognize more and more lately is that veganism is a topic that’s coming up a lot. So I started reading comments whenever the topic came up and it’s just that there are cruel things people say, that I just don’t understand.

How can you say veganism is wrong? How can you say humans are designed to eat animal products? And how can you judge anyone, no matter if they’re vegan or not and say that out lot while being sure you’ll hurt their feelings?

For me it just doesn’t make sense. Yes, I do think that the vegan lifestyle is the right one, BUT I’m not forcing it on anyone. That’s just not the right way to do something like that. In my opinion people have to chose themselves to go vegan, they have to want to become vegan. People have to be openminded about that lifestyle and educate themselves.

I mean I’m probably not the best vegan out there either. I’m fully living on a vegan diet – still eating way too much junk food, but yea, I’m trying. Also I’m trying to buy more and more vegan beauty products and all that, which is a struggle sometimes, but well I’m sure with time I’ll master that as well.

I know being vegan or going vegan isn’t easy, especially in the beginning, but it’s a step in the right direction. Go and watch some movies or speeches on Netflix and YouTube and just educate yourself. Even if you don’t want to become vegan, just do it so you’ll maybe understand why other people made that decision and try to tolerate and accept it.

I know that maybe some people get harsh when you comment on their eating habits, but that’s just life. Everyone is that way. And yes, I also would like to scream at my friends when they’re making a stupid comment about how my food looks so good, even though it’s vegan or that it tastes good, even though it’s vegan. Like WTF?! Vegan doesn’t mean that it has to taste bad. Vegan doesn’t mean that your food can’t look nice. It’s not like I’m making a comment about them eating dead animals. It does get annoying at times, but I try to just ignore it and simply reply to their comments with information about veganism.

I guess this was like a post full of me rambling and I don’t even know if it makes sense, but yea.. If you don’t agree or do or don’t understand what I was saying, please do comment. I’m not going to force this lifestyle on anyone, I just want people to understand and accept why I decided to go vegan. I would also recommend everyone to go and watch Conspiracy the movie’s available on Netflix in most countries and really opens your eyes to what is going on with our planet and how people are trying to cover up what’s happening to it.

Really hope you somehow enjoyed reading this post and that I will see you guys with my next post – xo.

Favorite recipes

Hey guys,

today I thought I’d share two of my favorite vegan recipes with you. The first one will be for breakfast and the second one for lunch/dinner. Hope you’ll like them!

Banana-Cinnamon-Oatmeal

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 a cup of oats – you can use any size of cup you like
  • 1 cup of soy milk – or any other dairy free milk
  • 1 mashed banana
  • cinnamon
  • dates, chia seeds and walnuts as toppings

I always start with just the oats and the milk heating up and after a while put in half of the mashed banana and lots of cinnamon. Make sure to stir all the time. When you think the oatmeal has the perfect consistency put in the other half of the mashed banana and stir again. Then put everything in your favorite bowl and top everything with the dates, chia seeds and walnuts. And then you’re ready to dig in!

Rise dish with Tofu and Needle Beans

Ingredients:

  • any kind of rice you like
  • Tofu
  • one onion
  • some garlic
  • needle beans
  • sun-dried tomatoes
  • tomato paste
  • salt, pepper, chili powder

I’d suggest you start with cooking your rice, as this part usually takes the longest. While your rice is cooking you can start cutting the onion, the tofu and the sun-dried tomatoes. Head up a pan and put in some oil or just some water and start cooking the tofu first. Let it cook for a few minutes before adding the onion and garlic. Next add in the needle beans and the sun-dired tomatoes, you can also add in any other vegetables you like – I also like to mix in some bell pepper every now and then. When your rice is cooked add the rice to the pan and then season it with salt, pepper, some chili powder and other seasonings you like. Then put in some tomato paste and water and you’re ready to go. – I have to add that I made this dish up by myself when I was super hungry and couldn’t find anything to eat. So I basically put everything in a pan I could find and it turned out to be quite yummy. That’s also why I didn’t put any measurements in the ingredients list, I normally just decide while cooking how much I’d like. Hope you’ll enjoy this recipe.
