recent reads.

Okay, I have to admit this one isn’t that recent, but I wanted to share this series with you, because I really enjoyed reading it and thought that maybe some of you to there will as well.

The series I’m talking about is The Selection Series by Kiera Cass.
Kalyn Nicholson, a YouTuber I love, talked about the last book of the series in one of her videos, so I thought I’d just give it a try and bought the whole box on amazon.

The series plays in the future and the world isn’t what it is now. Countries have different names and the population is split into castes, which each represents a certain class and with the different castes you’re only allowed to do certain jobs. Also most of the countries aren’t democratic any longer, most of them are monarchies now. So the heir of the throne of Illéa (a future country) is looking for a future bride with the help of the Selection and that’s pretty much what the book is about. It kind of reminds you of the Bachelor, but I really enjoyed reading this series. I have to admit though that I enjoyed the first three books more than the last two, but just read the books yourself and let me know what you think!

Here’s what it says on the back of the first book of the series:

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime.

The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth.
To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels.
To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn’t want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Them America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she begins to realize that the life she’s dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.”

If you already read the series let me know what you think of it. I mean which girl didn’t fantasize about becoming a princess one day?! 😜

I’m also always open to knew suggestions and always looking for new books to read, so let me know about your favorite series!

See you next time – xo.

MusicMonday

Hey guys,

I’ll make this one short and sweet. Here are three songs I’m obsessed with lately:

So obsessed with this song lately. Always been a die hard Jonas Fan and I really love the new music Nick and Joe are releasing lately. Make sure to check out Nick’s new Album Last Year Was Complicated which includes Bacon.

This one will definitely be my summer song 2016! So good. Just check it out, turn it up and enjoy.

Okay when it came to choosing a country song for this #MusicMonday I had a hard time. There are so many I love. I had to remind myself that there will be enough MusicMonday post’s in the future for me to share all my favorite country songs with you.

So yea here you go. Hope you enjoyed the post and let me know what you think of the songs, when you checked them out – xo.

Veganism

Hey guys,

so today I thought I’d just talk about something that’s been on my mind a lot recently. As you already know I am a big YouTube fan and am watching quite a lot of different channels. The thing that I recognize more and more lately is that veganism is a topic that’s coming up a lot. So I started reading comments whenever the topic came up and it’s just that there are cruel things people say, that I just don’t understand.

How can you say veganism is wrong? How can you say humans are designed to eat animal products? And how can you judge anyone, no matter if they’re vegan or not and say that out lot while being sure you’ll hurt their feelings?

For me it just doesn’t make sense. Yes, I do think that the vegan lifestyle is the right one, BUT I’m not forcing it on anyone. That’s just not the right way to do something like that. In my opinion people have to chose themselves to go vegan, they have to want to become vegan. People have to be openminded about that lifestyle and educate themselves.

I mean I’m probably not the best vegan out there either. I’m fully living on a vegan diet – still eating way too much junk food, but yea, I’m trying. Also I’m trying to buy more and more vegan beauty products and all that, which is a struggle sometimes, but well I’m sure with time I’ll master that as well.

I know being vegan or going vegan isn’t easy, especially in the beginning, but it’s a step in the right direction. Go and watch some movies or speeches on Netflix and YouTube and just educate yourself. Even if you don’t want to become vegan, just do it so you’ll maybe understand why other people made that decision and try to tolerate and accept it.

I know that maybe some people get harsh when you comment on their eating habits, but that’s just life. Everyone is that way. And yes, I also would like to scream at my friends when they’re making a stupid comment about how my food looks so good, even though it’s vegan or that it tastes good, even though it’s vegan. Like WTF?! Vegan doesn’t mean that it has to taste bad. Vegan doesn’t mean that your food can’t look nice. It’s not like I’m making a comment about them eating dead animals. It does get annoying at times, but I try to just ignore it and simply reply to their comments with information about veganism.

I guess this was like a post full of me rambling and I don’t even know if it makes sense, but yea.. If you don’t agree or do or don’t understand what I was saying, please do comment. I’m not going to force this lifestyle on anyone, I just want people to understand and accept why I decided to go vegan. I would also recommend everyone to go and watch Conspiracy the movie’s available on Netflix in most countries and really opens your eyes to what is going on with our planet and how people are trying to cover up what’s happening to it.

Really hope you somehow enjoyed reading this post and that I will see you guys with my next post – xo.

In love with Concerts.

Hey guys,

as I just went to a concert yesterday, I thought I’d let you be part of my love for concerts.

I try to go to go to as many concert as I can without going overboard and spoiling that experience. My last concert before the one yesterday was in June 2015. Part of that is that I sometimes think they’re overpriced and even though I like that singer I don’t want to spend that much money on him or her. But when I do decide to spend the money I’m never disappointed. I just love seeing that person performing on stage and just be able to party with them and have fun. Some people don’t get that, they prefer spending their money on clothes or makeup, and even though I like to spend my money on that stuff as well I still love to just set aside a little bit to go to concerts.

At the moment I’m still in that after-concert-bliss and let me tell you, for me that’s such an amazing feeling. What can I say, I love seeing those people do what they love on stage and spend the time with other people who enjoy their music. Another thing I love about concerts, you meet new people and some even turn into very good friends.

Here a few pictures of concerts I went to in the last few years:

Selena Gomez – 14. September 2013

While I’m still living in that after-concert-bliss and don’t want to go back to work tomorrow, I hope you all had a nice weekend and will have a good start of the new week tomorrow. I’d also love to hear about the concerts you’ve been to and which one was your favorite. -xo
